Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born April 26, 1991, also known professionally under the surname Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the first female to be signed by J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. On the 21st October of 2016 Pho was released by her, her debut EP for the Dreamville Records label. That was the day she began to gain recognition. Her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox posted her debut music on the internet in 2012. She released the single Five Finger Discount in 2013 and Ariography EP in 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to release her music on the internet, including her independently released single Bound. On the 21st of July in 2015, she appeared on Omen's album Elephant Eyes with the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew back then and wanted her to do some Rihanna reference. The official signing ceremony was held to Dreamville Records on 8 December. On the record Revenge of the Dreamers II, she appeared on the track Backseat alongside Cozz. The singer released Pho, her debut EP on October 21st on the 21st of October in 2016. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and performed as an opening act for the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. The singer also performed on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus alongside Bas and her labelmates. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th July of this year. The debut single, called Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream was released on the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a unreleased music videos. In November, she dropped the singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November, she released 13 two singles that were titled One and Pedigree. One and pedigree. Later, she was featured as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track entitled Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on February 26th, 2019 to accompany her debut album with the same title. A music video came out on February 20, 2019 to go along with the track. Within a matter of a week it had over 3,000,000 views. She was the opening act for 6LACK in the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
